Siwan and Jake provide the warmest of welcome’s upon arrival at their picturesque retreat for two, nestled in the middle of the stunning valley scenery along side the dynamic mountain stream, this is the ideal place to unwind and forget all about the fast pace of day to day life.

Inventively renovated the stable is a bright and airy studio space bursting with charm and bespoke handcrafted features.

First you’ll notice the contemporary kitchen, generously appointed with enough equipment to cook up a culinary storm, even the dining table is a feature in itself- handmade from oak grown on Siwan’s family farm and in the ideal spot to gaze out of the stable door and listen to the river serenade your romantic meal for two.

Next comes the living space with comfy sofa in front of the Laura Ashley wood burning stove standing on a hand made stone hearth. You’d be forgiven for wondering where the TV is in this living room, another custom design feature is that the large oak framed mirror doubles as a flat screen satellite TV.

If you’re looking for a night to remember then Y Stabl is the place for you, the bedroom boasts a bed like no other, entirely unique, the king sized oak bed is another breathtaking hand made feature, sumptuously dressed and with a “sleep like a log” guarantee.

Framed by the original wooden beams the bedroom boasts a bold blend of new and old, with indulgently modern lighting and glass brick wall striking against the warm oak.

Make the most of the spacious wet room with it’s contemporary shower and complimentary fluffy bathrobes before slipping outside to the private patio garden to truly unwind in the Jacuzzi hot tub. Gaze up at the stars and enjoy the total seclusion of this romantic hideaway.

Siwan and Jake live on site in the old farm house and are always happy to help with a wealth of local information and knowledge on how to make the most of your stay. Of course, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to tear yourself away from this enchanting spot, but if you’re looking for a little adventure then you’re ideally situated with mountains, beaches, forests and quaint market towns all within a 40 minute radius.

Walk along the many local footpaths up the mountain to the nearest trig-point and take the stunning panoramic valley views before heading back down into the village for a pint in the local pub, or why not grab all you need for a cosy night in from the well stocked village shop, full of local produce.

A little further afield is Cadair Idris, an imposing and atmospheric mountain to spend a sunny day of walking, with the Cross Foxes Bar & Grill very conveniently situated at it’s foot if the walk to the top looks a little too strenuous.

Head out to the coast and spend the day in the seemingly endless dunes at Ynys Las, or take a jaunt along the Victorian seafront of Aberystwyth.

If country walks and seaside strolls aren’t your thing and you’re looking for a little bit of action then head straight for ‘Zip World’ the longest zip wire in Europe, where you’re sure to get your adrenaline fix!

And don’t worry if you don’t fancy cooking, there’s a wealth of choice in this neck of the woods, with a collection of Michelin stars, exquisite scenery and fresh local produce, and not forgetting the all important locally brewed ales - if you time your stay just right you could even make the real ale festival in Bishop’s Castle.
