Eathelin | A fairytale treehouse for romantics with private hot tub in the pretty Worcestershire countryside

Welcome to one of the most stunning romantic retreats we’ve come across. Carefully crafted around the spine of a beautiful old ash tree, Eathelin Treehouse is a truly magical holiday cottage set in the rolling countryside around the pretty market town of Tenbury Wells. We love the unique combination of fairytale bohemian and contemporary luxury. And let’s not forget the private hot tub overlooking the lake and surrounding woodland.

Eathelin includes its own private hot tub, a handcrafted bedroom with a beautiful free standing copper bath, and access to a myriad gorgeous country walks. The retreat is a 90 minute hop from Birmingham, and under four hours by car from London. And, once you are here, you are only five minutes from a Michelin restaurant.

The treehouse and its beautiful interior has been lovingly handmade by renowned Christie’s and Sotheby’s cabinet maker John Beavan. Stepping inside has been likened by guests to arriving upon a five star suite - and we can see why. Head through the arch-shaped entrance and you’ll find the trunk of a huge majestic tree running up its centre. Around this twirls a beautifully handcrafted spiral staircase.

The downstairs living area has a gleaming oak floor, complete with luxury underfloor heating, which runs throughout the retreat, and several arched sash windows. This luxurious living space includes a large comfy sofa, a crackling log-effect fire and a Smart TV. Around you, artisan wall lights with ferns from the Brecon mountains give this space a unique feel. Alongside here, you’ll find the dining area, complete with a bespoke table, created from a nearby fallen tree trunk and topped with curved glass.

The kitchen area includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and wine chiller. Keep your eye out for your own luxury welcome pack, including artisan chocolates, tasty crackers, a slate cheese board, Worcestershire honey, marmalade and eggs. There’s also local apple juice, milk, a bottle of organic milk, traditional English breakfast tea, a selection of herbal teas, three types of ground coffee, instant coffee, and hot chocolate.

Head up the spiral staircase, and you’ll find our favourite part of this retreat. The master bedroom includes a super king size bed, an arched window above for star gazing, and a luxury free standing copper bath. Across from here, the bathroom includes a stunning fossil sink, and rainfall power shower.

Another beautiful space at this retreat is situated just outside - on your own elevated treehouse balcony. You can enjoy stunning views from here, as well as coffee out in the mornings and the twinkly lights of your treehouse at night.

Look across and you’ll see another highlight at Eathelin - your own bubbling hot tub, sheltered under its crafted roof. The hot tub has great views of the nearby lake, and will be all set up for you to hop in from the moment you arrive. Added to this, you have your own fire pit area, which makes an ideal spot for sitting out on those starry evenings, or for cooking up a barbecue on long sunny days.

There is fast-fibre wifi running throughout the treehouse. Outside, there is parking for two cars, including a Super Fast EV Charging Point.

Once you are ready to explore, you are in an ideal place to enjoy the rolling countryside. The treehouse is situated on the borders of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire and, among the sightseeing highlights, the founders of this retreat recommend a short walk to the beautiful Kyre Park Gardens, with its 32 acres of landscaped grounds. Also worth considering is a tour at Astley Vineyard, as well as a visit to the atmospheric medieval ruins of Ludlow Castle, and the beautiful town of Ludlow itself. And food enthusiasts have a real treat on their doorstep, as the highly regarded Michelin restaurant Pensons is only a five minute drive away too.
