Peace and quiet and a cosy cottage for two . . . The Owlery is a perfect cottage for couples as it is situated in its own surroundings within Dittiscombe Estate. Here guests can unwind and enjoy twenty acres of open space, the ponds, woodland and meadows, and a little bird and wildlife-watching from the cottage garden.

Located close to historic Slapton village, and the beautiful estuary towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe, The Owlery is also close to South Devon’s finest beaches and many stunning coastal walks along the South West Coast Path.

A warm and romantic welcome awaits guests inside the cottage with a wooden floored open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area featuring a wood burner, glass dining table, sofa and coffee tables, electric oven and hob, and microwave. There is also WiFi and a smart TV.

The bedroom has a king-size bed and is set on a galleried mezzanine overlooking the sitting room. Steps down from the sitting room lead to a luxury bathroom with an oval air bath, big enough for two, and in which guests can have a gentle and relaxing aquamassage. There is also a separate shower cubicle.

Outside the garden overlooks the small wildlife pond and is partly gravelled and planted with sea-side loving plants, shrub borders and climbing plants. A further private lawn area looks up the valley and into the orchard, an ideal bird viewing area.

Bath and hand towels are provided in this cottage. The cottage has its own parking space. This is a pet-free cottage and due to its layout The Owlery is not suitable for a mobile baby. Dittiscombe Estate holds nature tours around the valley and also guided forest bathing sessions. These can be booked directly with the owner Ruth by e-mail.
