The Bickerton Hills and the gorgeous Sandstone Trail are just up the road. There are hundreds of different walks with fantastic views, wild ponies and lovely pubs along the way. The Cowshed Barn also sits on one of the designated beautiful cycle routes of Cheshire so you can enjoy the rurals right from your doorstep.

For a day on the town, leave the car parked at the local railway station and hop on the train to Shrewsbury with its cobbled streets, timbered buildings and lovely shops and restaurants. Or take the train to Ludlow with its reputation for fine foods and heaps of antique stores to have a nosey around.

If you’re a National Trust member then there are lots of properties to visit, from Chirk Castle or Erdigg Hall to Speke Hall and Attingham Park or even the childhood homes of The Beatles.
