Fancy waking up to birdsong and peaceful rural views? And finishing the day off stargazing in your own private hot tub? Then Buzzard Lodge is the perfect choice for your next romantic break in the countryside. Located in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, this retreat offers everything you need for a truly de-stressing romantic break for you and your partner.
Buzzard Lodge is one of only four lodges, each in its own secluded location and set amidst the pretty Shropshire rural landscape. We already mentioned the birdsong and hot tub, but this lodge has so much more on offer. We love also the pretty garden and the private deck with sun loungers and BBQ, ideal for relaxed days at the lodge.
Step inside and you’ll straight away notice the bright and airy feel of the open plan living and kitchen area. Fully equipped, this kitchen is great for preparing lazy breakfasts and romantic dinners. Or just a tasty quick meal cuddled up on the sofa, enjoying your favourite TV programme.
The light and spacious theme continues into the bedroom, with its wooden floors, solid doors, large windows and a very comfy king sized bed. There’s also a second TV here so you can relax in bed in the evenings or have an extra long lie-in in the morning. The dressing room and en-suite with walk-in shower, basin and WC complete the picture.
There is so much to see and do in the area, such as three fabulous historic properties, all within a 45-minute drive. Both Powys Castle and Chirk Castle impress with their architecture, history and beautifully maintained gardens. Or step back into medieval times at Stokesay Castle; a real time-warp. Shrewsbury is another must see with lots of history, independent shops and some great cafes and restaurants on offer.
But you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a fantastic day out. Buzzard Lodge is set on the edge of a small village with plenty of walks and cycle routes on your doorstep. Don’t miss Nesscliffe Country Park with its interesting caves and stunning views across the Welsh countryside. While you’re there make sure you call in at The Old Three Pigeons, a 15th-century pub with roaring fires and tasty meals for when you’ve worked up a healthy appetite.
And after all this simply return to your own slice of Shropshire life; relax and soak up the stars in the hot tub, ready for another day in this rural idyll.
