Seren Safari Tent | An adventurous glamping retreat complete with hot tub and country views in Ceredigion

Experience country glamping with some big luxury twists at this unique romantic retreat. The Seren Safari Tent is nestled in the West Wales’ hillside and combines the joys of sunsets, campfires and countryside views with the comforts of a king sized bed, a log burner and the chance to chill out in your own wood-fired hot tub.

This getaway is the creation of former city dwellers Dan and Ellie, who fell in love with the tranquil Ceredigion hills a decade ago, and set about creating a stylish haven to treat guests to a luxurious glamping experience.

Their bespoke retreat Seren, which means star in Welsh, is found on a peaceful 11 acre smallholding in West Wales.

It’s about as far from the festival two-man-tent experience as we can imagine. Seren has a double bedroom with a comfy king sized bed, complete with a Hypnos mattress and super cosy Baavet duvet to give you a brilliant night’s sleep. There’s a twin room, as well as a handcrafted double cabin bed, situated just off of a cosy living area. All the bedrooms have extra blankets and hot water bottles.

There is a spacious living area with a relaxed and calm feel, complete with leather sofa, handcrafted dining table, benches and chairs, coffee table and games box. We should mention that you can stand up inside this safari tent – so no banging your head on the canvas.

Outside, you can admire views from your covered deck with the birds singing at sunset, a log burner at your back and a glass of wine in hand. Seren has a wood- fired hot tub which you are welcome to hire if you would like to take in the views from the tub.

Back inside, Seren’s hand-crafted kitchen includes a Belfast sink with running water, a single ring gas burner for tea and a Chilli Penguin log burning stove with oven and hot plate. The kitchen has all the cooking and dining equipment you will need.

The tent has its own private flushing toilet and hand basin, and additionally there are hot showers located just across the field.

Seren sleeps up to six, making it possible to have a trip away with friends or a spacious romantic retreat for two. The owners welcome group bookings – and have two other Safari tents you might be able to use if you hope to holiday with a larger group – and they are happy to host celebrations on site.

There’s plenty to do in the local area, including mountain biking routes and walks

galore. You are right on the Ceredigion coastal path, a stunning 65 mile route that runs from Cardigan to Ynyslas. There are also the green river valleys of the Teifi, Aeron, Ystwyth and Rheidol to explore, or you can venture to the Brecon Beacons or the uplands and forests of the Cambrian Mountains.

Within striking distance of the farm you can sample the ice cream at Contis, visit an organic whisky and gin distillery at Dà Mhìle, or sample a tipple at the award winning Penlon Cottage Brewery. Dan and Ellie recommend restaurants Y Polyn and the Harbourmaster.

Finally, we love the coast, and New Quay, Cei Bach, Llangrannog, Mwnt, Penbryn are just some of the stunning sandy beaches that are within 30 minutes’ drive of the farm. Bliss.
