The Rose and Crown is an 18th century coaching inn set on the middle of three village greens in the picture postcard village of Romalkirk in the picturesque Teesdale valley. The Rose and Crown is, as The Sunday Telegraph phrased it, ‘seriously snug’ with its panelled walls, cosy sitting room, plenty of books and magazines, old prints and a crackling fire in the dog grate.
The choice is yours - dine in the restaurant with its polished oak panelling, candlelight and sparkling silver or chill out in the more intimate bar area with its Windsor chairs, colourful wool fabrics and rural pictures and knick-knacks. Maybe a starter, main course and pud… or just a main dish and an espresso to finish.
There are fourteen en suite bedrooms with delightful fabrics, comfortable beds and smart bathrooms… plus lots of extras including Molton Brown bathroom accessories and Bose music systems.
The ideal choice if you’re after a country retreat with lots of romance and time for each other, you’ll return home relaxed and all loved up!
