Meadow View Cottage | A pet friendly country cottage with luxury hot tub and open fire set in the Suffolk countryside

Wake up in a cottage in the meadows at this beautiful romantic retreat – complete with bubbling outdoor hot tub and toasty indoor fireside. Meadow View Cottage offers guests the chance of a romantic break in Suffolk, close to some of England’s relaxing coastline and a short hop from bustling historic cities Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.

This 500-year-old thatched retreat has been designed so you can enjoy the atmosphere of times gone by, alongside modern luxury, all set up to give a couple the best Suffolk break possible.

Step through the front door and you’ll find a cosy lobby, leading through to a spacious sitting room, complete with an exposed oak beamed ceiling, comfy leather sofa and a beautiful inglenook fireplace for laid back nights by the fire. There’s free wifi here, and you’ll find a TV too, along with a DVD player.

Further in, there’s a kitchen and dining room, with a real country kitchen feel – keep your eye out here for the luxury breakfast basket left out for you by the cottage owners.

The cottage includes a bathroom with a large walk-in rainfall shower, and upstairs you’ll find a restful bedroom with a king-size bed, and views over the meadow – which gives the cottage its name.

Outside is your own private heated hot tub, for lazy afternoons and indulgent evenings. This is housed in its own ‘indoor outdoor’ room, nestled beside the trees. There’s also a large fully-enclosed garden and a charcoal barbecue for sunny lunches outdoors.

Dogs are welcome at this pet friendly cottage. You can bring up to three pooches along with you, and the cottage owners have even left treats for them too.

Stonham Aspal is just two hours from London but feels a world away, making this a great location to head to if you’re looking for some fresh air, and an escape from city life. During your stay, there are bikes at your disposal which you can borrow to explore the tree-lined lanes around Stonham Aspal, and you’ll find the area dotted with walking routes.

We’d want to see the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and, also, to check out well-reviewed local restaurant Bistro at the Barns. Meadow View Cottage is within a short distance of the Suffolk Countryside, including Southwold, Thorpness and Dunwich Heath, all set within a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
