Just look at those views! These in itself would be reason enough for us to stay in this romantic Suffolk cottage, but The Old Steam Mill has so much more on offer. For starters, it’s pretty huge so you get the luxury of space. It also sleeps four so you get a choice of two gorgeous bedrooms (or you could invite some friends if you’re feeling generous). The cottage also happens to be located in one of Suffolk’s prettiest areas with beautiful rolling countryside views everywhere you look and a host of historic villages, like Lavenham, on your doorstep. It’s pet friendly too so you get to enjoy all of this with your four legged friend.
No prizes here for guessing what this romantic cottage used to be. The Old Steam Mill has been tastefully converted into a spacious and luxurious holiday cottage with some lovely original features to remind you of its heritage. It’s set in absolutely stunning mature gardens that are such a joy to wander around in. Or take in the views from the large roof terrace, perfect for meals and drinks in the Suffolk sunshine.
Step in through the front door straight into the large open-plan living room with comfy sofas and a wood burner. From here, you have access to the dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The large windows make this a lovely space to be. Downstairs is also the spacious en-suite bedroom with dressing area.
Upstairs you’ll find the other bedroom with its own stylish en-suite featuring a large sunken bath with amazing views. From this level you also gain access to that fabulous roof terrace.
All of this is set just outside the pretty village of Hartest. From the cottage it’s only a 25 minute walk to a lovely country pub called The Crown where you can enjoy some local ales and good food. Travel only 20 minutes down the road and explore beautiful Bury St. Edmunds, rich in history, culture, food & drink and a great range of individual shops. Or explore some of the many romantic little villages and towns nearby such as Lavenham, one of England’s best preserved medieval villages with its many timber-framed buildings.
