Corncott | A beautiful North Devon hot tub retreat for couples who love luxury, the countryside, and alpacas

Nestled in a leafy 32-acre Devonshire estate is a hideaway where you can find old age charm mixed with luxury modern treats. Corncott was once the ground’s Old Mill but has been lovingly redesigned as a first floor retreat for romantics. This is a great place to stay, with nearby attractions including the beautiful Jurassic coastline, and a host of historic castles and gardens. Meanwhile, on the estate you have great views, free access to a hot tub, and your neighbours will include five friendly alpacas.

Head inside this retreat and you’ll find a tasteful and cosy home-from-home, with a comfy sofa and armchair, alongside a wood effect gas fire, and natural wood furnishings. You can see the mill’s water wheel through a feature window, and the wooden beams above you mean this is a room with lots of vintage charm.

Modern updates here include a Samsung 55” HD TV with Netflix, a BluRay Player and Amazon Show. Meanwhile more natural entertainment features the gorgeous scenery outside, including the alpacas that live on the Millbrook estate too.

Wander through from here and you’ll find a great kitchen for cooking while you’re away, including a Belfast sink, a fridge-freezer, dishwasher and double oven. The owners have included Emma Bridgewater crockery and Villeroy and Boch designer cutlery, so you can dine in style.

On from here, you’ll find the bedroom, which includes a comfy Laura Ashley king size divan bed, mirrored furniture and a free-standing bath with underfloor heating. The views from here are fabulous - one view shows the front lake and the other the alpacas.

While you are on Millbrook Estate, the owners invite you to book your free spot at their luxury hot tub, set in the woodland and including dozens of LED stars above for twinkly afternoons and evenings laid back in luxury. There’s also a BBQ Cabin, which can also be booked to barbecue dining whatever the weather.

This is a great place to visit for a peaceful escape away. And when you are ready to explore the world outside the grounds there are lots of great places to visit. Some of our favourites include the beaches of Croyde, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, with their huge stretches of sand. If you’d like to explore some history the country of Devon is something of a hotspot, with the 1106 Tiverton Castle and Torre Abbey, also dating back to the 1100s. If instead, you fancy a wander around some of the bustling local towns, you might enjoy Barnstaple, the oldest borough in the country, with its busy markets, or the historic town of Torrington.
