A picture perfect shepherd’s hut, no near neighbours, set in a field with stunning rural views, a wood fired private hot tub and within walking distance of some of Cornwall’s best beaches? That’s a pretty big ask, right? And yet that is just what owners Mark and Amanda are offering with their New Hut at Moyles Farm near Polzeath Beach - perfect for your next romantic break in Cornwall.
Designed and built by local craftsmen, this shepherd’s hut is stunning down to the last detail. Nestling in open farmland, it features a beautiful handmade kitchen, super comfy double bed with luxury Egyptian cotton bedding, a dining area, wood burner and luxury en-suite shower room.
Outside you’ll find a seating area, BBQ, shed for storing bikes and other equipment (like surf boards!) and the all important wood fired private hot tub with views to die for.
This is a perfect place to unwind, relax, gaze at the stars and rekindle the romance. It’s also a walker’s paradise; one of the most spectacular sections of the South West Coast path between Trevose Head and Tintagel starts only 15 minutes’ walk away.
Polzeath beach, famous for surfing, swimming and of course sunbathing, is only a 25 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. It has a fab mix of beachside shops restaurants combined with a nature reserve perfect for bird watching, and if you’re lucky you might even spot a dolphin or two in the bay!
Other amenities are also within easy reach; shops are only 1.5 miles away, Port Isaac is less than 15 minutes in the car with its range of cafes and restaurants and so is the amazing Eden project; well worth a visit at any time of the year.
Or for a change walk down to Rock, considered to be one of the most sought after holiday property destinations in the UK. It offers wildlife sea safari trips, waterskiing, sailing, fishing and is also a great place to learn some of these skills. At low tide, it boasts a fabulous three miles of unbroken sandy beach - perfect for romantic evening walks.
From Rock, catch the small ferry across the Camel estuary to Padstow, a quintessentially Cornish village, home to Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant and equally excellent cafe, as well as a range of shops, boutiques and a host of other restaurants.
And talking about food; Rock is rivalling Padstow with The Mariners pub, run by Paul Ainsworth, or St. Enodoc Hotel with amazing new chef Guy Owens. Back in Port Isaac we also really fancy Nathan Outlaw’s Michelin starred restaurant ‘Fish Kitchen’ - a top suggestion for that extra special romantic meal out. But there are plenty of options for ‘dining in’; sister-in-law Fee Turner provides delicious home cooked freezer meals using mainly locally sourced ingredients, delivered straight to your shepherd’s hut.
With so much to see and do you’ll be spoilt for choice on this romantic break in Cornwall. Ready to pack your bags? Then click on the link below for more info, prices & availability.
