This romantic retreat is an ideal getaway spot for couples seeking a peaceful, green South England bolthole set in its own leafy private estate. For fresh sea air, it’s a short hop to beautiful beaches, including the lovely Croyde, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. While for cosy evenings this converted mill comes with access to a beautiful hot tub in the Millbrook woodlands. Step up to this lovingly re-imagined mill and you’ll find a spacious home from home, full of natural furnishings and vintage character. This ground floor retreat was awarded five stars by Quality in Tourism, and we think you’ll rate it too.

The spacious living room includes a laid back leather sofa, armchairs, and traditional fireplace updated with a fire-effect wood burner. This is a great place to relax, with no expenses spared by the retreat owners Bob and Kate. There’s a Samsung 55” interactive TV with Netflix, a BluRay Player and Amazon Echo Show.

Wander through from here and you’ll find a modern kitchen, complete with quality stone floor and time-honoured Belfast sink. There’s everything you might want for serious cooking, including a double oven cooker and even a breadmaker. The pretty Emma Bridgewater crockery will make you feel right at home too.

Step into the bedroom and you’ll find beautiful views over the 32-acre estate here. Inside, it’s a comfy affair, with a king size bed completed with Egyptian cotton. From here, you have access to the bathroom, a masterpiece of design and functionality. Beautifully finished with stone travertine tiles, it includes a LCD sensor heated mirror, a heated towel rail, and a luxurious walk in shower, ensuring every moment in the bathroom is an experience in indulgence.

There are several great things to spot while you wander Millbrook’s estate. The grounds include a hot tub, which you can book at no cost, for afternoons and evenings laid back under its impressing twinkling LCD optical star ceiling.

There’s even a BBQ house, which can be booked, for a spot of woodland barbecue fun, whatever the weather.

There are nature trails across the estate, and one of our favourite things to spot along the way are the alpacas. Millbrook has five, and you can even buy socks made from their wool. It’s pretty cute, and there are also goats and geese on site.

Once you are out to explore, there’s lots to see in the area, including RHS Rosemoor Gardens, National Trust Arlington Court or some fabulous Beaches including Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands.
