This truly romantic and rural retreat is located at Penyrallt Home Farm, an organic dairy and sheep farm situated above the Teifi Valley, a few miles from Llandysul, 12 miles from Carmarthen and 17 miles from Cardigan. Because of its location you can experience life on a real working farm as well as visiting the nearby glorious beaches, spectacular hills and mountains and much more.
Penyrallt Fach used to be the old piggery but don’t worry - you wouldn’t know it today! The accommodation is on one floor and comprises of a fully equipped kitchen / dining / sitting-room with a fantastic wood-burning stove.
There is a large farmhouse table with seating for 4 and in the sitting-room area there is a sofa and easy chairs, perfect for relaxing after those long summer days on the beach or invigorating walks in the hills. Many books and board-games are provided, also a radio and DVD player with a good selection of DVDs. A fresh home-baked cake & flowers from the garden will on the table on your arrival.
There are two bedrooms which are simply and attractively furnished with a double bed and twin beds respectively, which have been hand-crafted by the owners using timber harvested from the farm’s sustainably managed woodlands.
The cottage is surrounded by a lawn and overlooks a paddock with a large pond. Central heating is available from 1st October - 1st of May and all fuel, electricity, bed-linen & towels are included in the charge. The water supply to the farm and cottage comes from pure, natural springs which rise at the top of the farm. Penyrallt Fach is a no smoking cottage. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at a charge of £15 each.
Wildlife abounds on the farm. There are resident badgers, foxes and rabbits as well as buzzards, red kites, herons and kingfishers amongst many other species of indigenous British fauna and flora. In the spring and summer many wildflowers and butterflies are to be found in the hedgerows and banks that run across the farm.
This particular corner of West Wales is perfectly situated for visiting the glorious coastline of Cardigan Bay, the Cambrian Mountains and the spectacular scenery of Pembrokeshire and the coast-path of the Pembrokeshire National Park but there are also plenty of historical sites as well as pretty towns, country houses and beautiful gardens to visit.
