We think Hare Cottage is a great choice if you are looking for a place to unwind. This North Yorkshire retreat has an easy-going charm about it, coupled with great views and a luxury hot tub. It would be an excellent choice if you want a break away in the country with the creature comforts all ready and waiting.

Set in the countryside village of Wensleydale - where the famous cheese comes from – Hare Cottage is a calming two-bedroom cottage, done up to top notch standards. There are great views of the countryside from every room – we especially like the view from the sofa in the living room where you can occasionally spot the Wensleydale steam trains chugging past in the distance. Set looking out towards a picturesque valley in the Yorkshire Dales, it’s a location that will set you to ‘relax mode’.

Inside the cottage there is a charming open plan sitting room leading to a high quality kitchen and dining area. You can light up the wood-burner in the winter, for super romantic evenings in with underfloor heating and soft blankets. And in the summer, you can open the cottage doors and bring the outside in.

Enjoy a little bit of luxury with your own Barista-style coffee maker in the kitchen, which is decked out with all the modern conveniences you could wish for, including an iPod docking station for your music.

And then, upstairs, there are two very generous sized en suite bedrooms. The first is a tranquil double room which can be set up as a king size double or a twin. The en suite bathroom in this room boasts underfloor heating, a grand roll-top bath and a separate walk-in monsoon shower. The second bedroom in this luxury Wensleydale Cottage also has a king size bed and enjoys stunning floor to ceiling views. There is a dressing room and an en suite which has a bath and shower overhead.

Outside, Hare Cottage has a large enclosed garden with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales and its own luxury wood-fired hot-tub. In the evenings, you can relax here under the stars – which sounds pretty special to us.

Hare Cottage also has lots to offer families. The large enclosed garden is perfect for little ones to run around in safely and there is also a generous play area next door with a variety of outdoor toys to keep them happy. The paddock to the rear of the cottage is home to Shetland ponies, and the kids will love coming out to say good morning every day. The owners can provide prams and bikes if required.

Just down the hill there is a tiny rural train station where you can hop aboard the Wensleydale steam trains. Beyond the village the attractive town of Bedale is worth a visit, and there is also the charming market town of Leyburn to explore.

There are lots of excellent gastro pubs to experience and, to get you started, the cottage owners recommend you check The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton, the Blue Lion at East Witton and the Wyvill Arms just along the road.
