Finger’s Point | A luxury romantic retreat with outdoor hot tub and indoor woodburner set by the sea in Penzance

This light and airy romantic retreat is the perfect place to enjoy sea views and relax, tucked away in a hidden corner on the edge of Penzance, in Cornwall. Finger’s Point is a converted barnhouse designed to a luxury standard and perfect just for two. Inside the cosy living area it is full of natural light – and outside there’s a private hot tub with views across the waves to the spectacular small tidal island of St Michael’s Mount.

Step inside this bespoke designer getaway and you’ll find yourself on toasty underfloor heating in the barn’s open plan living space. The room has gorgeous floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors overlooking the Cornish coast – so the light can flood in and you can gaze out. You can relax here, on the comfy sofa, and warm yourselves in front of a wonderful egg-shaped wood burner. There’s also a large TV for relaxing in the evenings, and free wifi for your stay.

Just across from here, you’ll find a modern kitchen decked out in soft greys with warm wood. All the equipment you need for five star cooking can be found in this little hideaway, and enjoyed at a table laid for two.

The bedroom space is another spot that has been designed for comfort and with luxury in mind, with a comfortable king size bad and high quality linen. Aside from here, you’ll find a modern wet room complete with a rainfall shower.

The standout feature at this retreat has to be its fabulous hot tub, tucked away on decking outside the barn. From here, you can enjoy the sea views and, on a cool, clear night, you can also get a great picture of a starry night sky, making it one of the best hot tub cottages in Cornwall.

It’s a carefree drive to Finger’s Point, with parking next to the retreat. There is a private lawned area waiting for you there too, with plenty of seating for sunbathing, as well as a table and chairs for lunch or breakfast.

Finger’s Point is ideally located close to the south coast, the far west of Cornwall and just ten minutes or so from the north coast and St Ives. If you like the outdoors, the location is ideal, with walks and lanes for cycling branching out from the door. The owners recommend you start with a wander to St Michael’s Way, which stretches from Lelant, near St Ives, to St Michael’s Mount. After this, there’s Chysauster’s Ancient Village to explore nearby, plus owners also recommend the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, which can be found close to Marazion.
