Deben Barn | A pet friendly Hot Tub cottage for two near Stowmarket, Suffolk

This gorgeous pet friendly barn is tucked by the trees of the Suffolk countryside and makes a great retreat for a couple seeking luxury – especially with its private outdoor hot tub. Deben Barn is named after the river which winds its way through Suffolk, all the way to the sea, which is just a half hour away.

Step through the retreat’s large stable door and you enter a spacious open plan room with a comfy lounge complete with wood burning fire and wooden oak floors. The space has a high vaulted ceiling and there’s a comfy sofa along with modern comforts like TV and wifi.

Across from here you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with lots of space, a Belfast sink and everything you need for self catering. There’s also an antique dining table which makes for a great place to enjoy a meal together at the end of the day. Keep your eye out for a delicious local breakfast basket, which the owners will leave out for you.

Walk through from here and you’ll find a cosy en-suite bedroom with an antique painted brass double bed. The bathroom has a good sized powerful shower, loo and hand basin.

The cottage is pet friendly and can accommodate up to three dogs – the owners will even leave a dog treat out for them. Outside, there’s a fully secure two acre meadow for dogs to run around and there’s seating so you can sit out and enjoy your coffee too.

In the warm Suffolk weather, you can enjoy your private garden, complete with patio and barbecue for al fresco dining. And perhaps the real standout feature of this retreat is its luxurious four person hot-tub. The Elite Luxury Spa has 30 jets, one lounger and three other seats, with air controls, illuminated pillows and colour-changing lights.

Deben Barn is one of five luxury barns beside The Granary and Woodfarm House. These are tucked next to mature trees around a pond and water feature, which makes for a peaceful environment to relax in. There is ample off road parking.

The meadow is located at the end of a pretty country lane, outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal, which has lots of walks and cycle routes starting straight from your barn door doorstep. Deben Barn owners will even lend you a bike for free.
