This West Yorkshire retreat is set in a beautiful corner of the world – a place romantic enough to have inspired the classic novel Wuthering Heights. Life might have changed a whole lot since the 1846 story was first penned, but the cobblestones and quirky buildings of Haworth still give the town its full charm – and this retreat will let you explore it in style.
Here, you’ve got the best of all worlds – with the beautiful scenery of the Pennines on your doorstep, the unique boutique shops and restaurants of Haworth and a host of lovely Yorkshire villages to explore, as well as the beautiful moors around you to blow the cobwebs away. This is less than 90 minutes from Manchester, and under five hours from London – but with its old Yorkshire town charm it feels like time might have turned back 200 years.
Located in a stunning converted mill on the edge of Haworth, you’ll find your apartment has everything you need for a luxury romantic break in Yorkshire. Step through the front door, and you’ll find a calming living room, complete with large sofa perfect for relaxing on romantic nights in. Keep your eye out for some very special treats to welcome you to your holiday – think truffles and bubbles! The apartment includes complimentary wifi too, and gorgeous town views from the windows. Outside there’s a private parking space too so you’ll never have to worry about where to leave your vehicle.
Across from the living space you’ll find a modern kitchen, complete with electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and everything else you might need to whip up a romantic meal for two while you’re away. We like the town views you get from the windows here.
Go through to the bedroom and you’ll find a peaceful space complete with luxury superking size bed, and from here you can walk through to the bathroom, which is a particularly modern affair, including a large rainfall shower.
We like the calming grey and silver colour scheme throughout the apartment, and the sparkly modern feel, giving it a real boutique hotel feel and making it a great place to put your feet up after a day exploring.
While you are here we would certainly recommend you head to the home of the Bronte sisters The Bronte Parsonage Museum, which has been kept largely as it was when Emily, Charlotte and Anne lived there. It is likely to still include some of their belongings, which looked tiny to us when we saw them. While you are in the town we recommend you sample some of the locally made beer and home distilled gin at Haworth Steam Brewing and Bistro, and there are plenty of great restaurants too.
For nature lovers, a walk up through the moorland scenery to the nearby Bronte Waterfall is a great place to start. We fancy trying the Haworth Moor Circular too to get a feel for the area – it includes the Lower Laithe Reservoir and the beautiful view from Top Withens too. If you want to explore further afield, the market towns of Skipton and Settle are close by - both lovely quaint places to explore - and you are just south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park too.
