Blue Moon | A romantic bolthole for couples seeking culture, art and fine dining in St. Ives, Cornwall

For those in need of a romantic seaside bolthole and a fix of culture, art and fine dining, Blue Moon in St. Ives is bound to deliver on all fronts. We love the stylish interiors - think bohemian beach hut meets boutique hotel - and high end finishes, making this a perfect Cornwall luxury cottage for couples. And it’s pet friendly too so your pampered pooch won’t have to feel left out on your next romantic break in St. Ives.

Downstairs the cottage has a large sofa with piles of cushions so you can get super comfy at night when you curl up in front of the flat screen TV for a romantic film. Here you will also find the separate shower room and high-end kitchen area with everything you might need to cook up a romantic meal for two. There are some great little touches like the Nespresso machine so you won’t have to go without your favourite coffee. We love the beamed ceilings painted in a wonderful sea blue and the tongue and groove panelled walls; perfect for a Cornwall beachside bolthole.

Upstairs the bedroom features a bespoke king-size bed, flatscreen TV, vaulted ceiling and exposed original beams, giving it a wonderful atmosphere. There is also a separate dressing room, adding to the upmarket luxury feel of this romantic cottage for two. This place oozes seaside charm without trying too hard; there’s just the right amount of driftwood and original art.

St. Ives is renowned for it’s food & drink. Porthminster Kitchen in the heart of the town is a great spot for people-watching and harbour views. Everything on the menu comes as a little work of art and there are some very good vegetarian options too. Or head out of town into the countryside where at the Halsetown Inn great tasting classics are thoughtfully cooked and presented in a cosy setting. Oh and don’t forget to get your fresh morning pastries from St. Ives bakery… yummy!

This is a great place to just amble along through the old streets and soak up the atmosphere. There’s plenty of culture too like the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and of course the Tate St. Ives.
