Bewl Water View |A luxury retreat for two with Juliet balcony overlooking the beautiful Bewl Water

This romantic retreat is a little haven of peace, with gorgeous views over the Sussex countryside. It’s an easy 90 minute hop from London right into an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The owners at Bewl Water View have created this hideaway to offer the ultimate luxury break for couples and an especially attractive sanctuary for anyone hoping for a week of fresh air and country walks.

Bewl Water View is a getaway spot that will have you feeling like you own your little corner of the world. Drive up and you will find a beautiful garden which sweeps down to the reservoir edge, and a wooded area to wander through, leading on to a great 13 mile walk around the tranquil Bewl Reservoir.

Step inside this romantic retreat and find a large open plan living room, complete with oak flooring and toasty underfloor heating. There’s a wood burning stove for nights in, and comfy sofas to lounge on – as well as modern features like free wifi and a smart TV with Netflix. Double French doors lead to your own outdoor terrace with a table and chairs – making it the perfect spot for enjoying a morning coffee, or an evening drink while watching the sailing boats and local wildlife.

The Bewl Water View kitchen is fitted with a Smeg electric oven and everything you might need for cooking, along with a Nespresso machine and starter pods.

Upstairs you will find a calming master bedroom, with a king size bed and furniture, leading to a Juliet balcony, so you can virtually step out and enjoy the view. There’s a modern en-suite bathroom, tiled with underfloor heating, along with a gorgeous freestanding bath and separate shower.

There’s lots to do while you’re here, particularly if you like the outdoors. Bewl Water View owners recommend you seek out the attractive towns of Wadhurst and Ticehurst, which offer local independent craft and vintage stores, along with cafes and a highly recommended local pub The Bell.

Royal Tunbridge Wells is a short drive away and offers good shopping opportunities as well as some great fine dining options for a treat. We have already picked out The Kentish Hare and Thackeray’s Restaurant to try.

If golf is your thing, try out the courses at Dale Hill and Lamberhurst. And if you’d rather check out a bit of English history, head to local National Trust hotspots such as Bodiam and Scotney Castles and standout gardens of Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor and Great Dixter.

For the adventurous there is a Go Ape site in Bedgebury Pinetum – and this is also a great spot to head if you hope to catch some cycling or walks through the ancient pines.
