This is one of the most charismatic retreats we know and will provide you with a luxury break to remember. Set among the stunning scenery of the Island of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides, Beach Bay Cottage is a really beautiful retreat stepped just back from the white sands of Uig Bay.

It would be a location to go seek out even if you weren’t planning to stay, as Uig Bay is part of a National Scenic Area and one of the most beautiful beaches on Scotland’s Atlantic Coast. But, if you’re a guest you get the best of this unspoiled coast, with breathtaking beach views. No wonder Beach Bay Cottage and the surrounding area is a loved spot by artists, photographers and bird-watchers.

Beach Bay Cottage is a natural stone retreat, with a turf roof built into the hillside. It gives a little nod to ancient neolithic designs, making it a very charismatic place to stay. Inside, there is a living and dining room with 180-degree bay window looking directly onto beach. There is a well-equipped kitchen and, importantly, a luxury double bedroom with 5ft bed, TV and en-suite shower room with its own two-person sauna. Next to this, there is a twin bedroom with TV and zip and link beds (can be 6ft double) with en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, and separate shower cubicle.

There is a family friendly beach less than 110 yards from the door and, stepping out, you will find a whole host of outdoor activities nearby, including hill walking, surfing, kite surfing, fishing, golf, wildlife watching, boat trips (including to the World Heritage Site of St Kilda), diving, sea kayaking and cycling.
