Not only does it have the most fabulous sea views from its living room and private terrace, it is also located on one of the UK’s finest white sandy beaches, Druridge Bay in Northumberland. All in all a picture perfect honeymoon retreat.

Bank Top Cottage is a contemporary luxury holiday cottage for two in Northumberland, making it perfect as a honeymoon cottage or for a romantic break to celebrate special occasions. The owners have managed to perfectly marry the historic 17th century exterior with a clean, comfortable and stylish interior featuring all mod cons such as underfloor heating and a luxury bathroom and kitchen.

Step inside and be wowed by the spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen accommodation with vaulted ceilings featuring beautiful oak beams. The striking black gloss kitchen is well equipped with all the kit you’ll need to cook up a romantic meal for two, including the all important dishwasher to do the hard work once you’ve finished.

A leather sofa and comfortable armchair offer incredible views up and down the Northumberland coast through the large bifolding patio doors. Open them up in spring and summer to remove any barrier between the airy interior and the long sandy beaches and big skies outside - perfect for a relaxing breakfast in the morning or drinks on those romantic long evenings. Autumn and winter offer up ever-changing scenery from moody storms and white-capped waves to white clouds rushing past on a background of perfectly blue skies. Cosy up on the sofa with your favourite tipple and just take in these truly uninterrupted views. And the flat screen television with built-in Freeview and FreeSat and a Blu-Ray DVD player are there to entertain when you fancy a relaxing night in.

The bedroom has a king size bed fitted with luxurious Egyptian Cotton micro-fibre bedding. There is plenty of storage space for your holiday wardrobe while a 22″ television, DAB clock radio and iPod docking station mean you can relax with your favourite music or films. The attention to detail continues in the design of the bathroom with its luxury shower and bath as well as the selection of Mason and Miller toiletries.

This romantic Northumberland beach cottage is perfect for honeymoon couples, walkers, nature lovers and all those who fancy a break away from everyday life. Its location overlooking Cresswell beach means you can wander up the coast for 9 miles up to Coquet Lighthouse or carry on even further; Cresswell Village is the start of the 64 mile coastal path going as far north as Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Nature lovers will enjoy the fresh rock pools with lobsters, mussels, crabs and starfish ripe for exploration. Those with an interest in birds are also spoilt for choice; the list includes Red Kite, Kingfisher, Cormorant, Little Grebe, Barn Owl, Ruff, Great White Egret and many more. And because of its position on the edge of the bay, dark nights are assured meaning you have a perfect opportunity to view the northern lights or meteor showers.

This area also has plenty on offer for foodies. The owners recommend The Plough Inn in nearby Ellington if you feel the need for some serious comfort food and great local ales. In the daytime you can leisurely wander down to The Drift Cafe; only a 5 minutes’ walk away this is the place to be for coffee and scones. And for that all important romantic meal try Gianni’s, a popular Italian restaurant around 9 miles away in the historic county town of Morpeth.
