Alde Barn | A romantic pet friendly cottage with luxury private hot tub in the Suffolk countryside

Head to this retreat if you want to really wind down in luxury, in peaceful surroundings. Alde Barn Cottage is full of the little – and large – extras that make a holiday special. It includes a huge private hot tub, built in its own indoor-outdoor garden room, just for you, as well as your own log burning fire, a romantic mezzanine bedroom, a nice big garden for you to enjoy, and even a Nespresso coffee machine.

Step inside this holiday cottage in rural Suffolk and you’ll first find a farmhouse style kitchen with a pretty antique farm table, perfect for breakfast or dinner, when you can open up the barn’s stable door entrance and let the fresh air in.

Next to here is the fully equipped kitchen, laid out with ample work surfaces and everything you might need for self catering. Alde Barn also has a superb Nespresso coffee machine, with capsules, and you can enjoy the welcome breakfast hamper too, to get your holiday off to a good start.

The kitchen area leads through to an intimate living space with a comfy sofa and log burning fire. There’s also free wifi. It’s a space that feels solid and luxurious, maybe due to its high vaulted ceilings and huge, exposed oak beams.

There is a well organised shower room on the ground floor too with a good sized powerful shower.

From the ground floor, head up a winding handmade timber staircase to a charming mezzanine bedroom with a solid wood double sleigh bed.

Outside Alde Barn you will find a large, fully enclosed private garden, with its indoor-outdoor room, housing your hot tub. There is also a patio with barbecue and table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The cottage is pet friendly, and can accept up to three dogs. There is a fully secure two acre meadow for them to run around and play, as well as seating for you too. And near here is ample off road parking.

Alde is one of five holiday cottage barns in the wooded meadow beside The Granary and Woodfarm House. It nestles into the mature trees around a pond and water feature, which creates a peaceful environment to relax in. There is also a communal decked area overlooking the pond.

The meadow is located at the end of a pretty country lane, outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal, which has lots of walks and cycle routes starting straight from the barn door. Alde Barn owners will even lend you a bike for free.

This sounds like a great place to unwind away from the world, but if you fancy venturing out to see the sights there’s plenty of options. Check out the gorgeous historic town of Bury St Edmunds, inland, or head towards the coast and find the arty modern coastal town of Ipswich, with its waterfront lined with cafes, galleries and shops.
